Greenridge Medical Center to Relocate to Expanded Facility on Oak Valley Road by Spring 2026

Greenridge, OH — Greenridge Medical Center, one of the region’s leading healthcare providers, has announced plans to relocate from its current downtown campus to a new, state-of-the-art facility on Oak Valley Road. The move, scheduled for completion in Spring 2026, is expected to significantly improve patient access and elevate the quality of care across the growing Greenridge community.

Hospital administrators and city officials confirmed the relocation this week, citing increased demand for services, limited expansion space at the current site, and a long-term vision for more patient-centered care as driving factors behind the decision.

Improved Accessibility and Modern Design

The new facility, spanning over 200,000 square feet, will be located just off I-83, offering easier access for patients traveling from surrounding rural areas. Ample parking, expanded entrances, and direct access to public transportation routes will make the new Greenridge Medical Center more convenient for patients and staff alike.

“We’ve outgrown our current footprint,” said CEO Dr. Carla Benton. “This move allows us to reimagine how we deliver care—by designing spaces with patient comfort, safety, and speed of service in mind.”

The new site will feature:

  • A larger emergency department with double the current bed capacity
  • Expanded surgical suites and advanced diagnostic imaging services
  • Dedicated wings for maternal health, orthopedics, and outpatient procedures
  • Healing gardens and natural light to enhance patient recovery environments

Streamlining Operations and Expanding Services

In addition to increased capacity, the relocation is expected to streamline hospital operations by consolidating departments currently spread across multiple aging buildings. Physicians and nursing teams will benefit from modernized workspaces, upgraded infrastructure, and improved internal logistics.

One key challenge the hospital is preparing for is the moving medical equipment, which must be handled with extreme care and coordination to avoid disruptions in care. Greenridge Medical Center has partnered with logistics specialists and equipment manufacturers to ensure all sensitive devices, from MRI machines to neonatal incubators, are relocated safely and calibrated for use in the new environment.

“This isn’t just about transferring equipment,” said Facilities Director Mark Hammond. “It’s about minimizing downtime, maintaining continuity of care, and ensuring that when the doors open, everything is ready for patients on day one.”

Positive Community Impact

The new facility is expected to bring long-term economic and healthcare benefits to the region. City leaders have projected job growth in both clinical and support services, as well as increased investment in the surrounding Oak Valley business corridor.

“I see this as a catalyst for regional development,” said Greenridge Mayor Evelyn Walsh. “Not only will it serve as a healthcare hub, but it will also attract new businesses and support services that enhance quality of life for our residents.”

What This Means for Current Patients

Greenridge Medical Center has assured the public that services will remain uninterrupted during the transition period. Detailed moving plans will be rolled out in phases, with updates provided to patients and the community via newsletters, social media, and local news outlets.

Staff training, systems testing, and dry-run simulations are scheduled in the months leading up to the grand opening, ensuring the facility is fully operational before welcoming its first patients.

Looking Ahead

As Greenridge Medical Center prepares for this monumental move, its leadership remains focused on a singular goal: improving the health and well-being of the community.

“Our mission has always been to provide exceptional care,” said Dr. Benton. “This new facility gives us the tools, space, and flexibility to serve more people, more efficiently—and with greater compassion—than ever before.”
